Brian Knep

In Prototube Jr, a vertical row of LEDs spins around a central axis. At high speeds, the LEDs form the illusion of a cylinder of light. The light patterns are organic and inviting, but the spinning hardware is quite scary.

In collaboration with JackBackRack, who conceived of the project, and Jeff Weber, who designed and built the physical device. I designed and programmed the organic, ever-changing patterns.
