Three adult frogs idle silently, twitching near the bottom of a wall. As they cycle, their long-gone tails repeatedly extend and retract in frustratingly constipated movements. Occasionally each frog leaps backwards in time, the growth of its tail pushing it up the wall as it changes to a tadpole. The tadpole falls back down, changing back to an adult frog.
This video uses manipulated photographs of Xenopus tropicalis, a frog used in laboratories around the world. The images are composited on the fly based on each frogs' simulated energy level, which affects its speed and position.
